A birthday party at Art Beat is a hands-on experience. We offer group projects such as ceramics, drawing, painting, textiles, sculpture, mixed media, printmaking and more. We'll let the birthday girl or boy pick the art materials and the subject matter for the party projects. There is an area in the studio for serving food and also an area to leave gifts. Inform us if you’d like to reserve time for refreshments or birthday cake. You are responsible for providing food, drinks, and eating utensils. Art Beat parties can get messy so it's best to inform guests on the invitation to “dress to mess.”

For an ideal ice-breaker, grab a bottle of wine and reserve a block of time at Art Beat. With you, your friends and an endless supply of paint and clay, you’ll never struggle to keep the conversation going. So, get creative with your next office party, opening social or friendly gathering.

General Information

 

Parties are available on the weekends and some weekday evenings. A party lasts two hours, and in that time we are usually able to do two activities. At the time you schedule the date and time of your party, Art Beat will require a $100.00 nonrefundable deposit. The deposit guarantees you the date and time selected. A basic two hour party is $350.00. One party accommodates you and 14 guests. After that, it is an additional $12.00 per person. There is a $25.00 firing fee for ceramic parties. Examples of possible parties at Art Beat are:

 

  • Ceramics - Explore the exciting world of clay. Build and glaze mythical creatures or invent your own.
  • Cups and Plates - Adorn your house with the functional and fantastical using simple hand-building techniques. The birthday child is welcome to come back to an additional ceramics class to have a lesson on our pottery wheel.
  • Fashion - Be an original. Set the trends. Paint, dye, sew or patch your way into a new wardrobe by reinventing old clothes or painting on new ones.
  • Animals in Art - Invite a bunny, a guinea pig, hermit crabs, bugs, or birds to your party and we will recreate them in the materials you choose.
  • Art Play - This party last for three hours and costs an additional $50.00. Guests will create a script, props and simple costumes, and then perform their play for parents at the conclusion of the party.
